O-rings are available in many shapes and sizes. Primarily used to prevent the loss of a fluid or gas, silicone o-rings can be used as dust seals, drive belts or on rotating shafts.

One of the most common seals, sil / silicone O-rings are designed to fit seamlessley into a groove and are then compressed to form a seal at the interface between the two parts. This seal prevents particle, vapour and fluid leakage to protect and maintain pressure whilst keeping debris out, ensuring proper function and safety.

When compared to Nitrile O-rings, Silicon O-rings (often coloured red for easier identification) are able to withstand higher operating temperatures. Silicon O-rings also perform well with water, steam or petroleum fluids.
