Designed to keep dust, dirt, debris and other abrasive contaminants out of ball and roller bearings, AV Type NILOS Rings, supplied by NWB, help extend bearing uptime in the harshest operating environments and industries by offering an additional layer of external protection over that provided by standard rubber bearing seals and improving bearing uptime as a result.

Externally sealing or AV Type NILOS Rings are intended to seal the outer roller bearing. The sealing edge will wear a small groove into the bearing ring. This groove acts as a labyrinth seal, preventing both the leaking of lubricant and also the penetration of contaminants into the bearing.
